Ephesians 4:17-32 | Church Clothes

Pastor Eric teaches from Ephesians 4:17–32 that believers in Christ are not merely improved versions of their old selves but entirely new creations, called to live differently because they have been transformed by the gospel.

In the text, Paul warns that returning to old, futile ways of thinking is destructive to both personal faith and church unity, while the new life in Christ is constructive and life‑giving. Through the metaphor of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, the sermon emphasizes that Christians must “put off” the old self and “put on” the new, allowing Christ to renew their minds.

Ultimately, obedience flows not from behavior modification but from gratitude for God’s grace shown in Christ, who empowers believers to live lives marked by truth, love, and forgiveness
